Dubai Mall Aquarium holds the Guinness World Record for the largest acrylic viewing panel, and visitors are fascinated with the walk-through tunnel experience. This was the first project of its kind undertaken in the world.
With more than 220 diverse animals, visitors can gaze at over 70 species in the main aquarium tank, including Sand Tiger Sharks, Rays and Giant Groupers.

There are over 150 species at the Underwater Zoo Discovery Centre (a separate paid aquarium attraction experience within the Dubai Mall) such as Caiman Crocodiles, Leafy Seadragons, Humboldt Penguins, Piranhas, Otters, Harbour Seals, Water Rats, Terrapins and Eels, among others.

Busan Aquarium at Haeundai Beach, a district east of South Korea’s second largest city is an 11,500m2 building. The 4 level structure is a themed ‘Oceans of the World’ complex and home to multiple aquarium display tanks, retail stores and eateries. Set against the magnificent coastline this spectacular destination attracts both international and local visitors.

The Melbourne Aquarium is moored like an elegant ship on the north bank of the Yarra River. The depth of the building however is not imposing at street level, set some 7 metres below the surface. At its centre is a world first ‘oceanarium in the round’ where the spectators become the spectacle to the marine life swimming around them. The completion of Stage 2 in 2008, saw a doubling of the buildings footprint and the massive Antarctic Zone including sub-Antarctic Gentoo and King penguins as its major highlight.

Opened in 2005, Siam Ocean World in the heart of Bangkok is a popular and impressive Aquarium entertainment venue. The Aquarium experience takes visitors on a journey through seven different zones – ‘Weird and Wonderful’, ‘Open Ocean’, ‘Deep Reef’, ‘Rainforest’, ‘Rocky Shore’, ‘Living Ocean’, and ‘Sea Jellies’.

Chang Feng Ocean Park, Shanghai boasts the largest shark and beluga exposition in China. Opened in 1999, it cost of in excess of US$20 million to construct. The aquarium is home to over 10,000 animals from 300 species and is located beneath an ornamental 13 metre deep lake Chang Feng Park. It’s major experiences are the Amazon rainforest, Caribbean coral reefs, mysterious Deep Ocean and large penguin display. In 2004 a 2,000 seater Beluga Whale Show stadium was opened at a total investment of RMB50 million.
